Exclusive Angling Holidays – Social Media page
3 LAKES, 3 DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES!
Exclusive Angling Holidays comprises three lakes set in 25 acres of Chestnut woodland, in the Dordogne region of France, just 40 minutes drive south of Limoges airport.
Exclusive Angling Holidays was formed in 1993 to cater for the more adventurous fisherman following the explosion in the popularity of Carp Angling. We were one of the first companies to begin offering holidays abroad that specifically catered for Carp and Catfish anglers and offered the quality of fishing only available on the continent.
Since then the company has gone from strength to strength, providing thousands of anglers with some of the best fishing of their lives!

Hello everyone. We can’t believe its November already and that we have completed our second season as owners of Exclusive Angling Holidays. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our guests who have visited us either this year or last and thanks for the bookings already in place for the 2015 season. We also like to thank you all for your continued support. Please continue to like and share our Facebook pages – Exclusive Angling Holidays and The Hunt for The Red October as well as our posts.
So, onto our October newsletter……..
We had four parties visit the lakes in October, with several locals fishing at the weekends. Firstly, we saw the return of regulars Dan and Kenny. These guys fished lake Bleu twice this year (as they do most years) and had a fantastic week at the end of September/beginning of October resulting in Cats weighing 84lbs, 77lbs, 74lbs, 3x70lbs, 68lbs, 66lbs, 4x60lbs, 87lbs, 90lbs, 67lbs,77lbs,103lbs,101lbs and 100lbs!! Well done guys and see you next May.
The following week we welcomed Lee Worker and his mates to Lake Rouge. Lee had won this holiday as a prize given to ‘Castaway Cancer’. The six guys had a good week and the best weight caught for Lee was a 34lbs 10oz Mirror Carp.
Then, again on Lake Rouge, Tony Kyte and his pals joined us for the second time this year. That was a cold week and the fishing was slow, however they caught several lovely Carp including this mirror of 32lb and these commons weighing 33lb and 33lb 5oz. Nice one guys and see you again next year!
Our Saturday changeover helpers Billy and Jim spent a weekend on Lake Bleu with Nick this month. They had a brilliant time resulting in five Cats caught. A 60lbs & 86lbs for Jim, a 65lbs & 95lbs for young Billy and a 72lbs for the three of them. As you can see they were well chuffed!! As ever a massive thanks to the guys for all their help on our changeovers, we couldn’t do it without them.
Local fisherman and friend Yohan and his mates had a great 48 hour session on Bleu a couple of weeks ago. They had Ten Cats out in total weighing 31kgs (68lbs) & 174cm long, 32kgs (70.5lbs) & 175cm long, 44kgs (97lbs) & 201cm long, 25kgs (55lbs) & 156cm, 30kgs (66lbs) & 164cm long, 29kgs (64lbs) & 169cm long, 47kgs (103.6lbs) & 193cm, 52kgs (114.6lbs) & 200cm long, 29 kgs ( 64lbs) & 153cm long and 36kgs (79lbs) & 180cm long. Nice one!!
And finally, the last week of our season we were joined by the Reilly’s and the Tomlinson’s. They had a truly awesome week!! It was a first ever Catting experience for their friend Dean who joined them for the week and he loved it.
Adrian was ecstatic to catch a 115lbs Cat and so there went another bottle of Champer’s!!
In fact these guys had such a good time that they have booked five weeks for next year on both lakes – thanks guys!!
In summary for the 2014 season, the biggest Carp goes to Yvonne Osborne with her catch of 40lbs & 2oz, one of our latest additions to Lake Rouge and the biggest Cat was caught by Wayne Geller Weighing in at a WHOOPING 121lbs 5oz from Lake Bleu and a new lake record. Well done to you guys, fantastic fishing!! We hope to see all of you again soon.
All in all we have had a fantastic season.
We will be putting in place a shower facility at the lakes during our closed period and will be bringing you regular updates as work progresses. Don’t forget that as of next season we will be open for Fly & Survive and Drive & Survive from Saturday the 7th of march right up until Saturday the 28th of November (so for March and November we cannot supply you with a holiday with mobile home). Please see our website for prices of this season extension or feel free to contact us either by telephone or email. Remember we offer discounts for returning custom, recommendations and CCG members.

We are pleased to announce that we are now providing boilies made by Active Bait Solutions. Geoff Bowers (who founded Active Baits in 2003) has been making bait since 1983, he founded Premier Baits in 1986 and had great success developing many house hold known baits such as Fish base, spiced fish, aminos, and supermarinos culminating with the Matrix. And so we are happy to be able to provide you with both MTX and Spicy Lob 18mm bolies for an introductory price of £30/38€ per 5 kgs!!!!! Mark Reilly, a frequent returning client to all three of our lakes had this to say about Active Baits “As with any angler I am always a bit cautious when trying new baits but after a bit of research found active baits had been in the business for more than twenty years so they must know a thing or two about bait. Genesis was my chosen flavour and it tore the lake apart bite after bite after bite 57 cats and 32 carp in 6 days between two of us!” We still stock our previous baits and this will be an addition. Please feel free to contact us for further details.

July 2014
Hi Everyone
We can’t believe that June has been and gone already, and what a fantastic month it was. The weather really heated up here in France in June, with temperatures into the 30’s and several lighting storms too. We have had 6 parties visit the lakes this month and several weekend visits producing some fantastic results and several PB’s for both the Cats and the Carp!!
We have updated our rules this month to state that when fishing lake Bleu you must have a Minimum of 35LBS line, however we recommend that you use 50LBS line.
August 2014
Hello to you all. August is here already and so it’s time for our next monthly newsletter. Firstly, we have found a new supplier for 22mm Halibut pellet and so we are pleased to be able to slash the price to just £2.50/3€ per kilo. With the help of Mark Reilly, we now have a Solar battery charging kit on Lake Bleu, capable of charging bait boat batteries, laptops, phones, tablets etc. The power pack has two 12volt supplies plus two USB sockets. Along with this there is a 150 watt, 12v-240v inverter. Upon his return to the UK Mark will be starting the next pack for Lake Rouge. May we take this opportunity to remind you that we operate a strictly Barbless hook policy at our lakes. In the month of July we had several returning visits from long standing EAH clients on both lakes Rouge and Bleu, and a couple of visits from new clients which, after their weeks of fishing we are sure we will see return. |
Firstly in July we had our first Fly & Survive visiters on Lake Vert. They had a cracking good time on Vert and as we had no one on lake Bleu that week, they also spent a couple of days/nights fishing there. Chris and Barry were just blown away with the whole complex and even more so with the size of the Cats in Bleu. Both smashed their PB’s. Upon their return to the UK Chris sent us this message “Thanks to Nick and Charlie for the best fishing experience of our lives, as soon as we turned into the pathway down to the lakes through what actually is a tunnel of bushes where human existence seemed to end, the only noise you will hear will be from the birds or the alarms screaming the lodges were perfect for what ever we needed and enough room to make things very comfortable, Nick was on hand at least once a day and i can honestly say the man just wants you to catch fish and enjoy your holiday. the fishing was like nothing experienced before and doing a fly and survive the equipment was perfect for the job, spending 5 nights on vert was great fun and brilliant social with plenty of banter and then finishing on bleu for 2 nights was a definite eye opener to the power of big catfish, in two nights we landed 26 catfish ranging from 52lb to 102lb with clutches done tight and the beasts still wripping line off was great fun. cant wait to be back on your lakes, thanks again!! chris, barry, dave” |

It may not look like it, but Barry did have boxers on under this fish – lol! |
Next the Thomlinson/Reilly party paid us a visit and for the first time they spent two weeks on Rouge. Mark was very pleased to have caught one of our latest Carp additions to Rouge and it weighed in at 40.5lbs being his new PB. Adrian also got new PBs with a 38lb Mirror and a 35lb Common. Young Ned from Camping Maisonneuve also smashed his PB whilst on a day visit with a 18.5 lbs mirror. And Michelle also went home with a new PB with this lovely 35lb almost leather – below. |

Dave, Liam and Ant (3 CCG members) returned again to Lake Bleu this July and were very impressed with the changes/improvements that we have made during the closed season. Within the first 48hrs they had been presented with 2 bottles of Champagne to celebrate their two 100lbs+ Catfish. Liam was over the moon as he has been trying to break the 100lb barrier for a while now. |
Our last visitors to the lakes this month were the Pickard party. These guys do amazing work for “Catting for cancer” please google them and have a look at the fantastic work they do. They all had a fantastic week but no one more then young Charlie who is just 14 and landed this awesome 98lbs Cat all on his own, as you can see from the photos it gave a really good fight and he was chuffed to bits to say the least. They had a total of 2431lbs of Cats out in their week – just awesome!! |

Hi Nick and Charlie
Thank you once again for your hospitality last week. Although it was one of the slowest fishing weeks we have had with you it was still very enjoyable and we are already discussing plans for next year. Nick you liked this photo which was of a 50lb+ cat from Vert the biggest we have had from that lake but I am sure it is the same one that I caught last year. Strangely it was 5pm on the Friday 2013 when I caught it which was the last fish of the holiday and Robby caught it again at 5pm on the Friday 2014 last fish of the holiday. Sadly for Robby last year’s competition was biggest Catfish from Vert whereas this year it was biggest carp from Vert which Steve won with a carp of about 25lb.
